Job Description And Duties
Under the general direction of the Chief of the Account and Hardware Support Section (AHSS), an IT Manager I, the Student Assistant supports activities related to User Management, IT Asset Management, Client Hardware, and Customer Support for the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). The Student Assistant is responsible for assisting in the management of user accounts, inventorying and maintaining IT hardware, and providing basic technical support to end-users across multiple locations within the State of California. The incumbent is expected to learn and perform tasks as assigned, gaining experience and technical skills relevant to the IT field.
Special Requirements:
Students must be enrolled and attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at any accredited college or university and enrolled in a minimum of six (6) semester units or (nine) 9 quarter units for undergraduate students, and four (4) semester units or six (6) quarter units for graduate students. Communicate effectively (orally and in writing if both appropriate) in dealing with the public and/or other employees; develop and maintain knowledge and skill related to specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipment; complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and, adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding attendance, leave, and conduct.

DHCS has embraced a hybrid work environment. Regular or recurring telework may occur as part of the incumbent’s ongoing regular schedule per DHCS's Telework Policy, in accordance with Government Code Sections 14200-14203.
