The Information Technology Manager I (ITM I) will lead the strategic development and implementation of information security initiatives across CalHHS departments, ensuring alignment with State and Federal mandates. This role involves collaborating with multiple departments to enhance security posture, manage compliance efforts, and support the integration of security technologies. The ITM I will play a pivotal role in driving the CalHHS agency’s information security strategy and policies.

2. Strong knowledge of information security frameworks, policies, and best practices, including risk management, incident response, and security architecture design, with the ability to implement these within a large organization.
3. Proven experience in developing and executing information security strategies that align with organizational goals, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and systems.
4. Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including executive leadership, department ISOs, and external entities, to drive security-related projects and initiatives.
5. Strong project management skills, including the ability to oversee the planning, development, and implementation of security technologies, tools, and processes.
6. Experience in monitoring and ensuring compliance with information security policies, conducting audits, and supporting departments in achieving required security standards.
7. Excellent communication and consultation skills, with the ability to advise executive management on security policies, risks, and strategies.
8. Ability to adapt to emerging security threats and technologies, implementing proactive measures to safeguard organizational assets.
9. Knowledge of business technology management and its application in aligning security tools and processes with the agency’s enterprise architecture.

Supplemental Questionnaire Instructions
A Supplemental Questionnaire consists of a series of questions and a mechanism for obtaining an applicant’s qualifications and experience in job-related areas. The Supplemental Questionnaire must be titled “Supplemental Questionnaire” at the top of the first page, typed in a minimum of 12-point font, single-spaced, on standard-sized paper (8.5" X 11"), and no more than 2 pages in length. This position is designated as required to file a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700) under the California Health and Human Services Agency Conflict of Interest Code.
