What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual Family Visitation Case Manager position at California Parenting Institute?
The Bilingual Case Manager is the first point of contact for all families referred for Supervised Visitation by Sonoma County’s Family Youth & Children Division (FY&C). The Case Manager collaborates with social workers, foster parents/caregivers, CPI Parent Educators, teachers and other CPI staff to ensure that all requirements of the case plan are fulfilled. This position is also responsible for responding to all client concerns.
Hours: 40 hours per week. Must be available to work between 10:30am – 7:00pm and on Saturdays from 8:30 – 5pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate with clients in both Spanish and English verbally and in writing.
- Point of contact for family referrals in our Supervised Visitation Program.
- Monitor conditions to assure the safety and welfare of the child.
- Perform case management and complete associated documentation.
- Provide support, model effective parenting behavior, provide education and information, and provide parents with information regarding age appropriate parenting and positive discipline techniques.
- Use own vehicle to make bi-weekly trips to food bank for snacks for visiting families.
- Maintain cleanliness of the visit spaces.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Knowledge of child development and behavior.
- Ability to work with diverse workgroups and serve families with diverse economic, social, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Demonstrate good writing and organizational skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain personal and programmatic boundaries while providing supportive services.
Preferred:
- Experience with conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of child abuse issues, substance abuse and family dynamics.
- Ability to type at least 30 WPM.
- Experience in social services in community setting with families.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Knowledge of child development and behavior.
- Ability to work with diverse workgroups and serve families with diverse economic, social, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Demonstrate good writing and organizational skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain personal and programmatic boundaries while providing supportive services.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift 25 lbs of supplies.
- Ability to sit and work on a computer and telephone for prolonged periods.
- Ability to move about the campus and walk between rooms and buildings throughout the workday.
