What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solar Roof Lead position at California Renewable Energy?
This person will help ensure quality installs, provide guidance for less experienced installers and will work closely with the electrician to ensure roof work is done timely for the electrician and crew lead. The Roof Lead will have previous solar installation experience with a good understanding of the installation process; from layout, install to final inspection. Must be a likeable person who motivates others in the field and is trustworthy and reliable. As with any job in construction, work location will change daily and is dependent on where the customers home is located.
JOB DUTIES:
Perform residential solar installations up to local code requirements
Check for quality of installation on the roof Provide guidance and leadership on the roof portion of the solar installation
Set up lay-out for the crew, and lead throughout the solar installation of railing, inverters and modules
Accurately bend Conduit for custom pipe installations Identify electrical, environmental, and safety hazards associated with installations
Ensure installation of work performed is of great workmanship and complaint with State and local codes
Work with local inspectors to satisfy local requirements and expectations, seeing project through to Final Sign Off
Provide photo documentation in accordance with internal Operations
Ensure work vehicles and trailer are stocked with enough inventory for solar installations
Follow safe working practices at all times on the jobsite
REQUIREMENTS
Must have previous hands-on experience in Solar installations
Must have previous experience and confidence bending Conduit
Familiarity with basic Building & Safety and Fire codes
Professional demeanor with clients
Must be able to safely climb ladders and work on rooftops, not afraid of heights
Must meet the physical demands of this position, with the ability to safely lift 75 lbs.
Must be able to successfully pass background and DMV check to be insurable on company vehicles
