Responsibilities:
Write and report editorials to meet daily deadlines
Research and pitch editorials to the board on a daily basis
Attend meetings and engage with policymakers and newsmakers
Attend and participate in regular editorial board meetings and other meetings as needed
Adhere to the company’s editorial ethics guidelines and all company policies regarding employee conduct Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
At least five years of experience reporting and writing
A strong understanding of state and local issues
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills
Ability to report on complex topics with accuracy, fairness and understanding
Excellent writing skills that can express ideas concisely and persuasively
Ability to meet daily deadlines Familiarity with law or public policy debates a plus
Ability to use software and publishing tools required for the job
