General Definition of Work
The Callawassie Island Lifeguard is responsible for enforcing the pool rules and ensuring the safety of members and guests during the Summer Kids Camp Program. Additionally, the lifeguard helps maintain the overall cleanliness of the pool and pool area. This position will report to the General Manager.
Essential Functions
The following functions are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.
Pool Attendant Duties and Responsibilities
- Enforce all pool rules.
- Verifying all equipment meets safety standards.
- Keep deck areas neat, clean, and orderly.
- Always maintain a polite and courteous attitude with all members and guests.
- Supervise children during summer camp program
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and qualifications
- Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate verbally
- Great customer service skills including listening carefully and exercising patience.
Physical Requirements
This position requires complete mobility and the ability to withstand extreme outdoor environments. Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk a minimum of 8 hours daily and the ability to lift to 25 lbs.
This is a seasonal position for the week of June 22-26th.
$25.00 per hour
Lunch, Shirts and safety equipment provided.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- One to two years’ experience preferred
- CPR certification
