About the Position
The Buyer will be responsible to procures a variety of goods and services for use by various departments within CalOptima Health. The incumbent will work and perform under the general supervision of the Supervisor Finance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participates in a mission-driven culture of high-quality performance, with a member focus on customer service, consistency, dignity and accountability.
- Assists the team in carrying out department responsibilities and collaborates with others to support short- and long-term goals/priorities for the department.
- Reviews and processes purchase orders from the requisition system to the Dynamics GP Purchasing
- Recommends best purchasing method using the Board-approved procurement policy as a guide.
- Researches and identifies capable vendors considering such criteria as conformity to specifications, prices, delivery times, terms, conditions and the reputation of the vendor.
- Creates, organizes, updates and maintains artwork files, contract files and scan copies of purchase orders to the purchase order repository.
- Reviews contractual documents for completeness, accuracy, compliance with policies and procedures and present them for management approval and signature.
- Contacts vendors to follow-up on orders and expedite or delay as needed.
- Serves as a backup to other members of the Purchasing team as needed.
- Updates contract management system as needed.
- Processes credit card procurements including monthly bill reconciliation.
- Processes AMEX travel program including monthly bill reconciliation.
- Assists and trains users in other departments with purchasing systems.
- Completes other projects and duties as assigned.
Experience & Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year of purchasing or other business experience required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above is also qualifying.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
