Calvary Lutheran currently has a need for teaching assistants in various age ranges from 6months - 5yrs. We have part time and full time opportunities to accommodate a flexible scheduling environment.
Position Overview
- Assists in the implementing of lesson plans
- Supervises children
- Interacts and engages with children in structured and unstructured activities
- Maintains a clean and safe environment for the children to explore and learn
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills with children, parents and staff
- Must have the ability to work well with other staff members and classroom teachers
- Possess exemplary character traits which reflect the vision and purpose of the ministry whose focus is the care and education of children. This includes but is not limited to a nurturing and caring attitude in both action and speech.
Must be CPR/First Aid Certified. We have a class available if not already certified
Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
- Must be 18 years old
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
- Must be able to meet physical and cognitive requirements to manage multiple toddlers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Understanding of child welfare principles and the ability to create a safe and nurturing environment.
Bonus (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or license.
