Worship & Creative Arts Pastor
REPORTS TO: Executive Pastor
POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Salaried, Exempt
HOURS WORKED: 45 Hours
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Worship and Creative Arts Pastor oversees, manages, and directs weekly gatherings and all media and communications for the church. They also lead worship at the weekend gatherings and lead and direct the worship and production teams. To fulfill the mission this leader must develop the creative individuals in our congregation, equipping them to facilitate excellent weekend gatherings and communicate our vision, values, and the gospel in compelling and creative ways.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Weekend Gatherings - Primary worship leader. Facilitate the creative elements of the worship gatherings by leading, training, and developing the music and AVL teams. Work with the Lead Pastor to craft gathering orders that communicate truth in fresh and creative ways.
- Build Teams and Develop Leaders - Build and develop a team of musicians and production team members engaged in weekend gatherings, who can produce creative and worshipful environments.
- Manage our Social Footprint - Manage and oversee our social media and web presence including social media and website planning and design. Oversees, and implements the church's branding guidelines.
- Media Production - Oversees all media production in the church, including, but not limited to, weekly livestream, promotional videos, and social media posts.
- Team Projects & Collaboration - Work together with the church and school staff to accomplish various projects and initiatives as needed.
- Ministry Administration - Manage ministry administration, such as managing budgets, organizing relevant metrics and data, calendaring, etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Has a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital growing personal relationship with Him.
- Spiritually mature, models the lifestyle of a passionate, maturing follower of Jesus.
- A proficient vocalist.
- Proficient with guitar and/or keys.
- Enthusiastically embraces God’s vision for our church and school.
- Lives a healthy, balanced lifestyle that honors God, family, and others.
- A reliable, hard worker who can manage a broad set of tasks well.
- Self-starter who shows initiative and innovation.
- Team player who works well with various personalities and has a consistent positive influence within the team.
- Teachable and approachable.
- Administratively gifted.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ministry-related bachelor's degree.
- 5 years experience in worship ministry.
- Experience leading teams and developing leaders.
- Proficiency with vocals and guitar.
- Proficiency with relevant ministry/media programs, such as pro presenter and planning center.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic experience and understanding of visual arts, including graphic design, video production and editing, and photography.
- Able to manage third-party graphic design vendors to start and complete projects on time.
