The A/R Clerk will provide patient revenue management support throughout the revenue cycle, with a focus on denials and rejections. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient revenue management support throughout the revenue cycle, including but not limited to working front-end and back-end claim rejections, insurance claim denials, & appeals.
- Accurately complete front-end rejections, denials and appeals on our charges to meet timely filing requirement.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service while serving as a resource for patients and staff when answering questions.
- Appropriately use EHR and practice management software.
- Watch trends in denials that may indicate issues with coding, credentialing, and formatting that prevent carriers from paying on claims, find and offer solutions to these issues and present them to your manager.
- Identify and improve processes to allow capturing of all charges for services being provided.
- Review and analyze denied or rejected claims to determine root causes
- Work with insurance companies to appeal denials and resubmit claims as needed
- Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and payment options
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all billing and collection activities
- Assist with other revenue cycle tasks as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in healthcare revenue cycle management preferred
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and billing software
