About Us
Camp Kippewa is a traditional overnight camp for girls aged 7-15, nestled in the beautiful Maine wilderness. We offer a unique tailored activity schedule, a nurturing atmosphere, and exceptional instruction across a wide variety of activities. Our staff embarks on a 10-week journey, with campers attending one of two 3.5-week sessions full of adventure, friendship, and fun.
About Our Trips
Our trips program is all about outdoor exploration and embracing the beauty of Maine. Campers embark on hiking and canoe trips, with our most challenging and rewarding hike being Mount Katahdin, the highest peak in Maine. Trips are designed to build confidence, teamwork, and a love for the outdoors.
The Role
As trips leader, you’ll be overseeing the big picture of our trips while ensuring safety, organization, and an unforgettable experience for both campers and staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of camp trips, ensuring safety and fun
- Oversee trip logistics, making key decisions in the field
- Administer medications and basic first aid as needed
- Provide guidance and support to both campers and trips counselors
- Drive a 15-passenger van or other camp vehicles for trip transportation
Requirements
- 21 years old (required)
- Comfortable driving a 15-passenger van (training available)
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Experience in outdoor leadership, hiking, or trip coordination preferred
- Wilderness First Aid certification is a plus (we offer Maine Wildlife First Aid Certification)

- Base salary (depending on experience)
