Job Description
The mission of the Youth & Family Programming Manager is to develop, own, and roll out programming standards for Carnival's Youth Programs, as well as several family experiences. This manager is also responsible for all project management components related to new and existing programming, such as ensuring accurate and timely communication to the shipboard team, establishing rollout timelines that are feasible, verifying execution is as designed, and creating feedback channels so improvements are captured and incorporated. The Youth Programming Manager is also responsible for creating and managing training initiatives specific to youth operations. This position requires an abundance of creativity, knowledge of youth-related operations, project management skills, and a true passion for working with kids, teens and families.
Essential Functions :
- Create, develop, refine, and continuously enhance programming for Camp Ocean (Turtles, Penguins, Stingrays, Sharks, Families, and Night Owls), Circle "C" and Club O2 to keep offerings fresh and exciting for kids and teens; build plan and timeline to ensure new activations are successful, establish programming guidelines, determine cadence, supply lists, giveaways, branding, and logos, and where applicable, oversee negotiations, manage programming financials and project budgets
- Propose, create, manage, and roll out shipboard youth trainings on the topics of youth policies and procedures, best practices, youth-specific hospitality, special needs certification, youth staff and leadership career development, and other topics as required; request budget, compose content, roll out to shipboard team, solicit feedback, and continually enhance and iterate
- Serve as main point of contact for all new and existing youth and family programming by answering shipboard team's questions timely and accurately; schedule monthly calls and ship sailings to maintain standards, conduct trainings and obtain and action feedback from staff and guests
- Maintain and update activity banks with over 400 activities and lesson plans; incorporate activity training guidelines, templates and supplemental materials, and background information so staff have the knowledge, direction, and tools to run engaging activities
- Manage financials tied to programming and training, including but not limited to supplies, creative fees, consultants, and partnerships
- Partner with shoreside Youth Managers to create programming for any projects or partnerships they may be leading
- Research and attend seminars and events to stay updated about youth and teen interests, as well as programming specific to children with special needs
- Work closely with Youth Fleet Supervisors to manage promotions and development plans for leaders; ensure ship scheduling and promotions reflect performance
- Analyze data and feedback across fleet, sharing feedback with broader youth team as appropriate, and develop and implement action plan to address common themes tied to operations

Physical Demands : Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and / or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel : 25-50% ship-based travel
Work Conditions : Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential.
This position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday. Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week and final schedule is determined by your leader. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami / Ft. Lauderdale area.
