Position Summary: Position will include a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work in the operation of equipment used in the maintenance and repair of roads and other relevant work as assigned. Duties include but are not limited to driving semi-truck, pulling belly dumps, pups, tankers, trailers, and hauling heavy equipment; operating water trucks, end dumps including hauling, plowing and sanding. Must be able to safely operate loaders, dozers, scrapers, skid steers, dust control & road maintenance equipment, tractors and mowers. Will need to regularly maintain tools and equipment. Must be available for snow removal and occasional emergency road repairs.
Pay Grade: 106
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum one year driving a truck. Ability to drive on slick and icy roads; demonstrate safe work practices and principles. Education/Training: • Equivalent to a high school diploma supplemented by specialized training in hauling/trucking and heavy equipment operation. • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with doubles, airbrake and tanker endorsements. • Pre-employment and random drug tests.
