Essential Responsibilities
- Support LAN, WAN, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
- Support and administer desktop systems in offices and onboard vessels.
- Administer/Maintain/Troubleshoot essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, email systems, laptops, desktops, printers, software, hardware, security updates and patches.
- Support/Maintain/Troubleshoot/Deploy mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Primarily Apple based products.
- Troubleshoot any other problems reported by users.
- Assist in maintaining asset inventory in the Gulf.
- Maintain system uptime 24x7x365.
- Active Directory and Group policy management and support.
- Assist in administering security suite software.
- Assist in administering Mobility VPN Client for mobile connections to vessel computers.
- Assisting with the development and support of in-house applications.
- The ability to travel to other facilities and vessels on the waterways to provide support for IT equipment is required.
- Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems that provide corporate support for the business.
- Assist the Senior leadership with daily/weekly/monthly tasks or projects when needed.
- Maintain an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
- Report to the Senior Leadership about any items needed to maintain a good IT environment in the Gulf.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3-5 years qualified experience in IT support.
- Must have experience in MS Windows 10/11 environment, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, VMware, DNS, Active Directory, Azure AD, Sharepoint.
- Ability to support after-hours and weekends (24x7x365).
- Ability to be on an on-call rotation, dependent on IT staff, and is subject to change to fit the needs of the department.
- Ability to travel both locally and out of state. This would require air travel.
- Ability to receive a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (Government Issued ID which requires a clean background check)
- Must have a basic understanding of networking.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals and groups of varying skill and functional levels.
- Effective problem-resolution skills with IT systems and individuals.
- Familiar with Microsoft SQL 2016 or later
- Ability to write basic SQL queries
- IT Certifications are a plus.
- Networking skills
- Experience with electronics
- Experience with supporting Apple iPhones
- Experience with supporting mobile devices using a Mobile Device Management System
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to work long hours when needed.
