Electrical Drafter

Our Campos Fabrication team is continuing to grow and seeking an Electrical Drafter to join our team in Minneapolis, MN. The CAD Electrical Drafter will transform conceptual ideas into detailed drawings by applying expertise in design, materials, and fabrication, all while managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks. This role receives guidance from the Project Manager and/or Engineer and is responsible for overseeing specific portions of projects from inception to completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transforms initial rough project designs from engineers and project managers to schematic project
• Contributes to product design by preparing layout designs, participating in design reviews, modifying existing plans, and completing assigned tasks.
• Collaborates with engineers and panel shop personnel to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD drawings.
• Utilizes basic drafting tools to create documentation and implement design changes.
• Identifies areas where process or component modifications may be necessary and communicates with project manager or engineer.
• Works closely with internal team consisting of project management, engineering, production and external partners throughout the project cycle to ensure project success.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at a time. This includes project planning and budgeting, preparing deliverables like material lists, cost estimates, timelines, reports, and documentation.
• Applies LEAN principles to drive continuous improvement in design and manufacturing processes
• Willingness to learn and use new CAD software that provides integrated process optimization.
  
  

Required Education & Experience:

• Drafting certificate or related Design Degree (BS, BA)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant drafting experience (electrical)
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical - AutoCAD Electrical Certification
• ePlan experience or proficiency is a bonus.
  
  

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving is required.
• Knowledge of industry standard used in drafting.
• Strong time management and attention to detail skills.
• Ability to translate P&IDs to engineered designs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  
  

Pay: $25-35/hr depending on experience

Expected Hours and Work Environment:

Standard working schedule is Monday through Friday. There may be occasional requests for evening and weekend work.

This role is primarily in a professional office environment and requires the use of standard office equipment including laptops, printers and photocopiers.

Physical Demands:

The employee must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs. This role will require the ability to aid in the production process and and communicate with the production team.
