Job Summary
Working at the second busiest cruise Port n the world, this leadership position is working alongside the Vice President, Cruise Business Development, with the primary functions of planning, organizing and administration of the cruise business line at Port Canaveral in an effort to increase multi-day cruise operators, cruise line products, passenger volumes and revenue while ensuring high levels of customer service for cruise line partners and a quality experience for cruise guests.
Essential Functions
- In a team-based environment, this position will formulate, identify and evaluate cruise business development opportunities that support the strategic business model of the Port for increased revenue.
- Identify and build business alliances with cruise line executives in all departments including commercial, sales, operations, and itinerary planning to increase business in both homeported and port-of-call cruise vessels.
- Interface with the cruise organizations, such as the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association, Cruise Line International Association
- Assist in negotiations of cruise line agreements with key decision makers for multi-year contracts which will ultimately result in increased business, revenue and future growth for Port Canaveral. Assist in contract management of cruise line operating agreements
- Develops reports, processes, financial data, and forecast information for the CEO and executive staff as part of expanding the Port’s strategic plan for the cruise business.
- Plan and facilitate cruise-related interdepartmental meetings ensuring Port staff is proactively aligned on all current and future cruise business line requirements.
- Provide support in the formulation of policies, programs and capital projects tied to current and future Port cruise business needs to accommodate future growth and an elevated guest experience.
- Manage Port Canaveral short- and long-term cruise terminal vessel schedule ensuring high terminal utilization and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate and strategize with cruise line itinerary planning and revenue management departments on current and future vessel deployments.
- Manage cruise-related Port Tariff rates and regulations in order to remain competitive with other Florida ports.
- Strong applicable knowledge of cruise industry including current and future industry trends.
- Collaborates with both internal and external customers on cruise business development media plan and content.
- During emergency conditions, all CPA employees are automatically considered essential employees and may be subject to recall. These events may include, but are not limited to, natural, man-made, or public health emergencies. Employees may be expected to perform emergency and/or recovery operations outside of their normal assigned responsibilities and routine working hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Marine Transportation, Logistics, International Maritime Business, or similar, from Federal or State Maritime Academy preferred.
- Leadership experience in maritime business, seaport operations, or cruise business development; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
- Must have strong communication skills - verbal, written and presentation.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and analyze marketing and sales statistical data to implement
- Knowledge of computer applications for statistical analysis, report preparation and presentations.
- Ability to interact with members of the public, existing and potential customers, represent Port Canaveral before
community groups, service organizations, and civic committees to promote the development and use of Port Canaveral.

Physical Requirements:
- Tasks may involve the ability to exert light physical effort in a sedentary to light work environment
- May involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (20-30 lbs).
Environmental Requirements:
- Work is performed in usual office conditions
- Able to work nights and weekends as needed, and travel for extended periods both domestically and internationally.
