The Welding Supervisor is responsible for the training, safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency of welding operations to support our manufacturing.
Education
Education/Experience:
- Technical degree or Welding Certificate and at least two years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience working in a metal fabrication, complex assembly, engineered solutions and in a fast-paced environment is ideal.
- Proven track record of successfully training and mentoring team members to improve welding techniques.
- Strong leadership, influence, and persuasive skills with proven ability to effectively motivate, coach, and mentor.
- Experience with assembly lines, use of visual replenishment signals, Kanban, and continuous flow manufacturing.
- Experience reading and interpreting prints.
- Demonstrates use of people centric leadership to effectively motivate and coach team.
- Oversee, assist, and provide training on welding various materials using Robotic, Tig and MIG welding equipment.
- Assign team members to production jobs for the shift and adjust as needed to assure meeting schedule.
- Assist other welders in maintaining production in accordance with company standards.
- Inspect team members work to ensure that work is performed in a manner consistent with established levels of quality and quantity.
- Foster and maintain an effective working relationship and environment with all team members.
- Suggest, encourage input to, review and implement process improvements.
- Request maintenance through work order process.
- Anticipate and participate in determining hiring needs, selection and onboarding of new employees and temps as needed.
