License & Permitting Specialist
Manage, monitor, and oversee the licensing and permitting processes by performing complex licensing and permitting work in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Work involves applying for, renewing, transferring, or closing of licenses and permits while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Manage day-to-day operations of various divisional licensing & permitting activities specifically as it relates to application acceptance, review & approval workflow, license/permit issuance, and productivity.
- Apply for initial applications, renewals, and changes during licensure periods
- Complete applications satisfactorily – on paper or electronically, obtain signatures, request/make payment, and submit to the state, county, or local agency for review and approval
- Work with the different agencies to clear omissions/deficiencies and obtain approvals
- If required, schedule site surveys
- For site visits, ensure the site is ready for the survey
- Create, maintain, and make available documentation needed for licensing & permitting related center binders
- Maintain data room organized and current with copies of licenses or permits, applications, and payments
- Process and approve any licensing and permitting related invoices for payment
- Provide licenses to the centers to be prominently displayed on the permit board
- Work with center management teams, as needed
- Conduct internal and external research necessary to obtain licenses and permits as required
- Utilize professional communication skills exercising judgment and collaborative skills to achieve outcomes that are satisfactory for all parties involve.
- Focus on maintaining ethical practices and organizational values while communicating with government agencies
Requirements
- Associates degree or some college coursework completed
- 1 to 2 years’ experience working with licenses and permits – in a healthcare environment preferred
- Ability to conduct research
- Capacity to communicate effectively, troubleshoot
- Capable of working with little supervision
- Can navigate through online applications and portals
