Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and other regulatory requirements.
- Cash Management: Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Audit Management: Coordinate with external auditors to ensure annual audits are completed in a timely manner and address any findings or recommendations.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance.
- Financial Analysis: Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding cost control, profit maximization, and financial performance.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy
Required Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial practices and procedures, as well as a thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strongly proficient in excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems.
- NetSuite experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
- Master's degree is a plus
- 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance management
