GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director, in collaboration with Early Childhood faculty and staff, will implement the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Career Pathways grant and ensure all activities comply with the grant proposal and regulations. This role coordinates grant services across college departments and provides direct student advising and support within the ECE program. The Director maintains current knowledge of Early Education and Care (EEC) policies and regulations to inform program development. Key responsibilities include data tracking and reporting, grant oversight, fiscal management, partnership coordination, participant recruitment, and community advocacy. All activities will be conducted in partnership with relevant faculty and staff. This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon availability of grant funding and performance of professional duties.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Monitor and coordinate ECE Career Pathways grant project activities to ensure implementation and service delivery as described by the funded grant program, including staffing, programmatic, fiscal obligations, and compliance with regulations and guidelines.
- Work with the Early Childhood Education Coordinator and faculty on the implementation of the project and compile accurate data for the writing and submission of reports and the renewal of proposals.
- Develop partnerships with early childhood education providers in the College's service area and address educator needs for professional development.
- Serve as a liaison between employers, schools, workforce centers, and other community partners.
- Participate in all Early Education and Care (EEC) sponsored meetings, including EEC Community of Practice meetings.
- Stay abreast of current and evolving early education policies at the state level.
- Facilitate the implementation of early childhood education courses in Brazilian Portuguese.
- Coordinate grant services across college departments including admissions, advising, registrar, grants office, financial aid, and the early childhood program.
- Work closely with the students in the early education department to provide advising and other support.
- Maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders and participate in relevant on/off-campus meetings.
- Organize and facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for grant participants.
- Track project expenditures and coordinate with grants office on budget processes.
- Oversee student aid distribution in partnership with the grants office and financial aid.
- Manage project data collection and reporting for grant requirements.
- Attend occasional regional and statewide meetings related to the project.
- Conduct regular meetings with appropriate staff, including Early Childhood faculty and advisors.
- Supervise additional staff funded by the ECE Career Pathways Grant.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or closely related field.
- Demonstrated success in supporting and retaining students towards course and program completion.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate grant activities, including budgeting and reporting.
- Familiarity with the MA EEC policies and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with early childhood education and out-of-school time educators including family and center-based educators, school personnel, and the College.
- Demonstrated ability to write clearly and compose concise, coherent reports.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to travel to attend occasional meetings and participate in conferences, including evenings and weekends.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree or higher in in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or closely related field.
- Experience in administration in an EEC licensed early childhood education program.
- Grant management experience.
- Familiarity with the Cape and Islands region Early Education and Childcare stakeholders.
- Experience in Early Childhood Administration or Early Childhood Education classrooms.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: Annual salary range of $70,000-$75,000 (dependent upon qualifications). Full-time, Non-unit Professional position that includes participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program. This position is grant-funded through the MA Early Education and Care (EEC) Career Pathways Grant.
