GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Early Childhood Education program seeks a dedicated and experienced faculty member to teach courses within the associate degree and certificate programs beginning in Fall 2025. This tenure-track role includes supporting the program's National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation efforts, contributing to curriculum development, and fostering student success. The faculty member will collaborate with key stakeholders and assist in developing and maintaining partnerships with new affiliation sites to enhance experiential learning opportunities for students. This includes working collaboratively with the YMCA for practicum, internship opportunities and coordinating the partnership with the YMCA. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth and excellence of the Early Childhood Education program while fostering student success, strengthening community relationships, and expanding hands-on learning experiences.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Instruct a range of Early Childhood Education courses at all levels.
- Develop and deliver courses in various formats, including face-to-face, hybrid, HyFlex, online.
- Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement efforts at both the course and program levels.
- Engage in college service and committee participation as assigned.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to assigned students.
- Maintain regular office hours to support student engagement and success.
- Support department initiatives, including program-level assessment and accreditation requirements.
- Utilize the institution's learning management system (LMS) effectively.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings and submit reports in accordance with the provisions of the MCCCC Agreement.
- Maintain open and effective communication with students, faculty, and staff throughout the academic term.
- Ensure timely submission of course syllabi, attendance records, midterm and final grades, early alerts, and other required reports.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including community partners, early childhood education organizations, and advisory boards, to enhance program quality and student opportunities.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with new affiliation sites to support practicum experiences and hands-on learning for students.
- Works collaboratively with the YMCA for practicum and internship opportunities, coordinating the partnership with the YMCA.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean of Health Sciences & Professional Studies.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience teaching Early Childhood Education courses at the college level.
- Proficiency in developing and teaching various modality courses.
- Experience incorporating technology into instruction and assessment.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in educational settings.
- Relevant professional experience in the field of Early Childhood Education.
- Meet Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) qualifications for Lead Teacher or higher.
- Knowledge of and experience with the NAEYC Higher Education accreditation process and requirements.
- Experience working with stakeholders, community partners, and/or advisory boards in the field of early childhood education.
- Ability to develop and maintain partnerships with new affiliation sites to enhance experiential learning opportunities.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: Full-time, tenure-track, MCCC position with an anticipated Annual Salary Range of $52,880-$66,725. Actual salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, determined by a formula-based classification system, consistent with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Includes participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program including option for membership in the Massachusetts State Employees' Retirement System.
