GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide instruction to students in Modern Dance (DAN120) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-1:45 PM during the 2025 Spring semester (January 21-May 16, 2025). This course provides students with a fundamental knowledge of modern dance techniques and composition. Participation in dance exercises, observation, and discussion of various modern dance styles enables students to develop a physical awareness and understanding of modern dance. Emphasis is placed on participation.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Provide instruction in modern dance techniques.
- Track and assess student progress.
- Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
- Collaborate with performing arts faculty.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in a Performing Arts-related field (completed or in progress) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in dance instruction.
- Experience teaching a diverse student body, preferably at the community college level.
- Demonstrated effectiveness fostering an inclusive, equity-focused learning environment.
- Effective pedagogical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Skill in using technology to support the teaching, learning, and administrative processes.
