What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Support Specialist – Mobile Crisis Team position at Capital Area Human Services?
The Mobile Crisis Team B-Peer Support Specialist utilizes knowledge and perspective gained through personal life experiences as a person in recovery from behavioral health conditions to provide peer support services through direct work with clients. Conducts outreach to potential clients without health insurance who are
experiencing mental illness and/or substance use problems and want treatment services. Supports clients with mental illnesses, addictive disorders, or co-occurring disorders, in their recovery efforts, conducts education and support groups, and assists with person/family-centered treatment and transition/discharge planning. Serves as a liaison and provides linkages between persons/families served and community resource agencies. Documents all services provided to clients in the electronic health record. Completes training in Seeking Safety which is an extensively researched evidence-based practice for working with people with substance use disorders and co-occurring Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Leads Seeking Safety group sessions, which are present focused and teach adaptive coping skills, in community based settings.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
