Caplugs, a leader in product protection and custom molded components for over 70 years, is seeking a skilled Tool Maker to join our dedicated team. As a Tool Maker at Caplugs, you will play a crucial role in fabricating and assembling precision tools using advanced technologies and techniques.
SUMMARY: Responsible for building inserts and molds to print and repairing plastic injection tooling and mold base components, utilizing all tool room equipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
· Reads and interprets blueprints.
· Operates sophisticated equipment.
· Capable of holding close tolerances to make functional components.
· Builds inserts and molds utilizing CNC and manual equipment including Lathe, Mill, EDM and OD Grinder.
· Final inspection and assembly of final product.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to fifteen years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 4 years of Mastercam milling experience and 5 years minimum 5 axis experience
· Ability to use precision measuring equipment e.g. OD/ID micrometers, dial caliper, indicator, CMM, comparator etc.
· Strong math background and Trig comprehension
· Blueprint reading and interpretation
