What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Clerk position at Caravel Autism Health?
The Accounts Payable Clerk position completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices.
Essential Functions:
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
- Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
- Answers vendor inquiries regarding payments.
- Processes employee expense requests.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Non-Essential Functions/Other Duties:
- Performs any other tasks assigned by management
Supervisory Responsibility: Not applicable.
Travel Required: Minimal.
Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role, with frequent sitting and computer keyboarding (10-key) required. Some lifting (up to 35 pounds), stooping and bending are required.
Qualifications:
Education:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- 1-2 years minimum A/P experience required
- 6 months-1 year related work experience in a Shared Service/inter-company environment
Skills and Competencies:
- Detail oriented and maintain high levels of accuracy for high volumes of data
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Dependable with strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take direction and complete work tasks correctly.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Account Payable process and systems (preferably Dynamics).
- Displays professionalism and represents organization in a professional manner.
- Ability to abide by ethical guidelines and policies, including strict adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
Other:
- Must be 18 years old or older.
