Job Description: Construction Bookkeeper – Full Time
Overview
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-charge bookkeeping for the construction industry, and will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting the overall financial health of our projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable: From new vendor setup (W9, COI, etc), coding and bill entry, vendor account reconciliation, weekly and as-needed bill payment, 1099’s.
- Project Accounting: Track project budgets, costs, and revenues, ensuring all expenses are accounted for and accurately reported.
- Invoicing: Work with owner to produce and submit accurate customer invoices, ensuring timely payments and following up on overdue accounts.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements as needed, and project-specific reports, providing insights into project profitability and cash flow.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and other departments to ensure financial information is communicated effectively. Must have working knowledge of standard inter-company processes, GAAP requirements, and the ability to collaborate with other accounting staff members working in other locations and for related companies.
- Credit Card: Manage and track multiple credit card accounts, ensuring all transactions are posted correctly and statements are reconciled each month.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of full-charge bookkeeping experience, with a focus on the construction industry.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency with Quickbooks Enterprise and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports that support business decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
