Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. This role is essential for ensuring accurate billing processes and maintaining the integrity of medical records. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate complex billing scenarios.

Duties

• Review and analyze patient medical records to extract relevant information for billing purposes.
• Assign appropriate codes using ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems for diagnoses and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards in medical billing practices.
• Process medical claims and follow up on outstanding accounts to ensure timely collection.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in documentation or coding.
• Maintain organized records of all billing activities and patient interactions.
• Stay updated on changes in coding regulations, insurance policies, and medical terminology.

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical billing and coding within a medical office setting.
• Proficiency in using coding systems such as ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare processes.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical collection practices.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• CPC certificate required.
