Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care services including bathing, dressing, and grooming to patients in their homes.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, maintaining the highest level of patient safety.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals, adhering to strict guidelines.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, fostering a positive care environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe living space for patients.
Requirements:
- Certification as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Home Health Aide (HHA)
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality
- Able to perform light housekeeping duties and cook simple meals as needed
- Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency
- Demonstrated literacy and arithmetic skills
- At least 18 years old
