Responsibilities
- Provide personalized care to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, in their private residences.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients at all times.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals, maintaining accurate records of treatment.
- Monitor vital signs and promptly report any changes or concerns to medical personnel.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, fostering a sense of community and connection.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
Requirements
- Certification as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or Home Health Aide (HHA).
- A solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
- The ability to prepare simple meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
- Satisfactory completion of a New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic literacy and arithmetic skills.
- Age requirement: 18 years or older.
