Drive new and existing business opportunities with large globally based companies, within food manufacturer segment, leveraging other functional groups to build customer success.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages Global Food Manufacturer customers and serves as the primary contact for global engagement.
- Develops and executes strategic customer plans to drive customer profitability
- Delivers on the budgeted and forecasted financial targets of the global customers
- Aligns customer engagement with Griffith’s Aspirations driving positive growth
- Supports and develops strategic management solutions aligned with complex sales presentations, proposals, RFPs, contracts and negotiations.
- Develops and executes global customer pricing contracts
- In conjunction with supply chain and other functions, internally manages customer forecasting, inventory, new product commercialization, sku rationalization
- Works cross-functionally with R&D, Culinary, Sensory, Marketings and other teams to exchange technical information and project timelines
- Uses targeted BI and other sales tools (CRM) to manage the sales process which includes financial management, account plan development/execution, customer performance and management
- Leads the Global Account Management of Strategic Accounts to identify and execute new business opportunities through collaboration with key functions/units and other Supplier partners.
- Supports regional and local customer activities by leveraging global Consumer Insights, Marketing Data, and Concept development.
- Contributes to execution of global segment strategy for Food Manufacturers.
- Visits and or provides direction to all locations to support customer engagements for Strategic Global Customers.
- Utilizes third party resources to support objectives.
- Strong ability to plan and manage at the strategic and tactical levels.
- Develop effective “route to market” and strategic customer business plans to drive target segment growth.
- Works to help business units achieve planned revenue and profit agreed in the Operating Plans.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by being involved through top level contact with current customers.
- Ensure solutions approach by leveraging cross functional personnel to drive growth using targeted core capabilities and new capabilities were identified as opportunities.
- Leads account planning for global customers.
- Global travel required with ability to lift, carry, transport personal luggage and product samples.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of sales/business development experience; global experience preferred.
- Experience working with Mars and/or large, high-profile CPG/FMCG customers is highly preferred.
- Experience and proven success in business development and growth in a 1–2-year timeframe with prospect customers.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining business relationships.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of individuals and functional areas within the company and outside the company.
- Operates with a high level of tenacity, personal commitment and enthusiasm.
- Financial and technical acumen in understanding needs and developing proposals.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; second language a plus.
- Become subject-matter-expert for assigned aspiration and big bet.
- Lead through influence.
- Ability to work across Global Time Zones virtually.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; CRM experience a plus.
- Ability to travel globally 20-30%.
