Responsibilities
- Balancing life and work with a new career opportunity in short-term rehab, skilled nursing, or sub-acute care
- Ensuring required staffing levels are met for each shift on a daily basis
- Making adjustments to staffing levels as needed and updating the Federal posted schedule
- Attending and participating in weekly resident At Risk meetings to identify concerns and interventions
- Participating in morning clinical review meetings and PPS meetings as indicated
- Monitoring provision of resident care by licensed nurses and C.N.A.s
- Reviewing 24-hour resident change in condition reports and implementing necessary follow-up
- Reviewing resident medical records and documentation
- Identifying educational needs of staff and collaborating with the Facility Educator
- Participating in committees as requested by the Administrator/Director of Nursing Services
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal rules and regulations
- Complying with HIPAA rules and regulations
- Initiating disciplinary action as necessary for staff members
- Communicating with department managers and resolving grievances and concerns
- Assisting with preparing performance evaluations and greeting new admissions
- Ensuring all admission documentation is complete within 24-48 hours
- Monitoring medication passes and treatment schedules
- Providing direct nursing care as necessary
- Reporting problem areas and assisting in developing corrective action
- Attending continuing education programs to remain current with standards of nursing practice
- Ensuring nursing staff follows policy and procedures, including dress code
- Participating in fire safety and disaster preparedness drills
- Ensuring infection control procedures are followed when isolation precautions become necessary
- Participating in the development of written care plans for each resident
- Ensuring all nursing care is provided in privacy
- Reporting allegations of resident abuse and misappropriation of resident property
- Assisting with ensuring Advance Directives/Code Status have been obtained and documented
- Participating in annual survey processes and assisting with plans of correction
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred and/or graduate of an approved RN program
- Active licensure as an RN in assigned state(s) of employment
- Previous supervisory experience
- Two years of LTC experience
- Acute care experience preferred
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
