We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Multifamily Assistant Superintendent to join our construction team. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent and project team to ensure the successful completion of multifamily residential construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Superintendent: Collaborate with the Superintendent to plan, schedule, and oversee all construction activities on the job site.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure work quality meets company standards and adheres to construction plans and specifications.
- Subcontractor Management: Coordinate and manage subcontractors, ensuring they are meeting project deadlines and quality expectations.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce and maintain a safe and secure job site by adhering to all safety protocols, conducting safety meetings, and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
- Material and Equipment Management: Assist in tracking and managing materials and equipment deliveries to ensure they are on schedule and within budget.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address any issues or obstacles that may arise during construction, working with the Superintendent to find effective solutions.
- Communication: Regularly communicate project progress, issues, and updates to the project team and management.
- Customer Relations: Foster positive relationships with residents and neighbors by ensuring minimal disruption and addressing any concerns professionally.
- Budget Management: Assist in monitoring project expenses to stay within budget and report any cost overruns promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in multifamily residential construction or a similar product.
- Knowledge of construction processes, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- OSHA certification preferred.
- Must be able to walk about a construction site in varying weather conditions for the majority of the workday, with or without accommodation.
