Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as Bookkeeping Assistant. As Bookkeeping Assistant, you will be responsible for utilizing our billing database to create and send client invoices, responding to client billing questions, processing payments and following up on receivables. This position is an excellent opportunity to join our team, and our ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, clerical and communication skills, and demonstrate a high level of professional discretion.
Duties:
- Set up new client matters in the firm’s billing software;
- Track and enter costs to be billed to clients;
- Generate and send invoices and statements;
- Report on client trust account balances;
- Receive and process payments;
- Follow up with clients to ensure payment of delinquent invoices;
- Maintain spreadsheets and generate reports regarding receivables; and
- Process reimbursements of unused retainers
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
- Proficient in document management systems;
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in file maintenance;
- Strong administrative and clerical skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
- Previous law office experience is a plus but not required.

Our Accounting Department is a key part of our daily operations. This position requires a focused individual who is punctual, reliable, and who has the ability to efficiently solicit, and process information gathered from all other Departments in the firm, and who is at ease in communicating tactfully and professionally with clients regarding their invoices and their payments.
