SUMMARY OF POSITION
Members of the kitchen staff are expected to prep, prepare, and plate menu items to the specifications laid out by the Executive Chef while maintaining a high level of cleanliness, quality and visual appeal. The Kitchen Staff position reports directly to the Executive Chef.
REQUIREMENTS
· At least 18 years of age
· Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods
· Demonstrate competency in simple cooking procedures
· Have extensive knowledge of food and beverage products
· Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
· Maintain a professional relationship with all employees and guests
· Maintain a clean, organized, stocked and safe work environment
· Report to work on time, in uniform and be willing to work
UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
· All attire must be clean and professional in appearance
· Chef pants and black chef coat
· Black non-skid shoes
· Black socks
· Black hat or hairnet must be worn at all times
· Hair below shoulders must be pulled back and restrained
· Gloves (provided) must be worn when handling food products
· No jewelry is to be worn while preparing food
JOB DUTIES
· Assist with food preparation
· Cooking menu items to the Executive Chef’s specifications
· Timing with other staff to ensure all food is served in a timely manner
· Plating food to have visual appeal according to the Executive Chef’s specifications
· Keep the kitchen clean, hygienic and organized at all times
· Report any malfunctioning equipment to the Executive Chef immediately
· Properly store, date, and label all food items
· Expect and maintain a high level of standards
· Mind the rule of “first in, first out”
· Wash dishes in accordance with health regulations
