Position Overview
Blind Stitch 1 sews bottom hem or side hem on all custom draperies with a blue or white belt machine.
What you'll do
● Remove draperies from rack onto blue belt machine● Blue belt machine is operated by the employee● Make minor adjustments for correct stitch for all fabrics● Hem work according to the work ticket on racks● Review work tickets for any special hemming instructions● Notify mechanic of any major problems with machine● Clean and oil machine daily● Work closely with racker giving them information on direction● Report production standard daily● Make supervisor aware of any work related problems that occur● Pinning fold down the width of drapes, on sheers● Perform other duties as assigned
Who you are
● High school graduate● Sewing experience, experience with industrial sewing machines● Ability to use and read a tape measure● General knowledge of fabrics● Ability to use hand tools● Successfully pass color blind test● Accuracy with names, numbers and spelling● Capable of standing for extended periods of time● Capable of lifting on a continuous basis● Strong attention to details● Follow written and verbal instructions
