We are seeking a dedicated Sewing Machine Operator to join our team.
The Sewing Machine Operator will be responsible for operating sewing machinery to produce finished garments.
Responsibilities include operating various types of sewing machines, ensuring product quality, and achieving production goals.
Our ideal candidate has experience in textile manufacturing, displays excellent attention to detail, and can work independently as well as part of a team.
Ultimately, the role of the Sewing Machine Operator is to ensure that production remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring outputs and checking finished products for possible defects.
Key Responsibilities:
Sewing Machine Operators have the following duties and responsibilities:
Understand and follow sewing instructions and procedures
Operate and maintain sewing machines and related parts, including pattern plates, needles, presser feet, automatic cutting tools and blades
Read and interpret work orders and measurements to determine machine adjustments, material requirements, and assembly methods
Thread machines, change needles and do necessary machine cleaning
Inspect and repair finished products for conformance to specifications and correct defective work pieces as required
Align parts or workpieces to ensure proper assembly
Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctions
Report any issues regarding the sewing machines to the supervisor for immediate repair
Ensure the work environment is kept clean and organized
Follow safety guidelines and company standards at all times
Required Qualifications:
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Proven work experience as a Sewing Machine Operator or similar role
Experience with industrial sewing machinery
Ability to work efficiently and accurately
Excellent hand-eye coordination
Basic math skills for measuring and counting fabrics
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Reliable transportation and ability to maintain consistent attendance
Ability to work in various temperatures and weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous warehouse experience
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)
Basic knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA standards
Must be able to pass E-verification.
Bilingual English/Spanish a Plus.
Starting Pay:
$15/hour Mon to Fri 8:00am to 5:00pm
