Law Clerk

Carolina Legal Staffing is seeking an in-house Legal Clerk/Assistant to support to join a corporate legal department in Uptown Charlotte. The position includes a wide range of legal support functions including (i) general corporate matters, (ii) litigation support, (iii) administrative support including filing, invoice management and similar areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support corporate lawyers and corporate legal function, including document preparation, filing, maintenance of corporate minute books, correspondence and related duties.
• Support litigation lawyers and the corporate litigation function, including organizing and tracking filings, tracking matters, preparation of filings and correspondence, and related duties.
• Administrative responsibilities include managing legal dept. correspondence, electronic filing and document maintenance, tracking ongoing projects/matters, schedule maintenance, managing payment of legal invoices, and related functions.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Interact with internal and external clients, including acting as primary point of contact and schedule maintenance.
• Ability to uphold standards of complete confidentiality, ethics, honesty, discretion and fair/proper behavior.
• Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Candidates must have a minimum of 1-year of work experience in a legal support role at a law firm or corporation
• Prior in-house experience preferred
• Bachelor’s college degree
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications—Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel
