Transportation Coordinator
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and providing scheduled and unscheduled (as directed by supervisor) transportation services to the residents between the Center and various destinations throughout the community. Schedules and coordinated appointments with Administrative, Nursing, and other departments as needed. Assists residents with their needs while at appointments. Picks up and delivers supplies and other materials as needed. May assist with special events, including assisting activity staff with off-site activities. May assist maintenance staff with maintenance of company vehicles. Provides information, makes referrals, and contributes to good customer service by answering the phones, screening and transferring calls, and/or taking messages accurately and courteously. Coordinates the transportation program for residents in all levels of care. Ensures transportation aides are properly trained by appropriate staff and transportation aide skills are verified at hire and annually. Schedules appointments for residents to physician offices and notifies residents' families and clinical staff of scheduled appointments. Ensures the scheduling, coordination, and communication of driver route assignments. Ensures company vehicles are clean and well maintained. Ensures vehicles are returned to their designated parking spot and refueled. Maintains maintenance and vehicle mileage logs.
Minimal Education:High school diploma required. College degree/ current Certified Nursing Assistant required.
Minimal Experience:Two (2) years' experience in an office administrative setting required. Previous transportation experience preferred.Other Qualifications:One or more years' experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation. Must be able to meet auto insurance carrier's standards for coverage.
