PLR Talent Forward provides HR and talent sourcing services to credit unions in North and South Carolinas. We are pleased to partner with SAFE Federal Credit Union to assist with the identification of candidates for the position of Vice President (VP) of Human Resources.

The Vice President of Human Resources will play a key role in the credit union’s success by leading and coordinating all aspects of the human resources function, including employee relations, compensation, benefits, payroll, learning and development, and compliance.
What you’ll do:
- Manage the Salary Administration Program to ensure competitive and equitable compensation strategies.
- Direct recruiting processes, including posting job openings, screening applicants, and maintaining candidate records.
- Provide guidance on employment law and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Lead new hire orientations, exit interviews, and employee transfer processes.
- Oversee employee learning and development programs, including supervision of the Learning Development Manager and the creation of annual training calendars.
- Maintain and communicate HR records related to payroll, pension, workers compensation, and personnel policies.
- Manage employee benefit programs, including incentive and bonus plans.
- Oversee payroll processing and retirement plan administration (401(k) and 457(b).
- Ensure compliance and reporting for the Workers Compensation program.
- Directly supervise human resources and learning and development staff, driving performance and engagement.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture through effective communication, problem-solving, and team leadership.
To Qualify for this position, You’ll Have:
- A bachelor’s degree in business or human resources.
- At least 10 years of progressive HR experience with proven expertise in compensation, benefits, administration, and compliance.
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of human resource management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
