What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Electrician position at CaroMont Health?
Job Summary: Must posses positive people skills and a can do attitude. Must be willing to work flexible hours and/or shifts to accommodate the needs of the hospital; on call schedule and weekend work schedule. Be involved in all electrical maintenance and installations of all types building automation, laundry and food service equipment and perform any other departmental maintenance work as assigned by your supervisor. Ensure that all logs and documentation are kept current for Generator test, fire protection systems, energy management and all other related test documentation as required by regulatory agencies. Troubleshoot, and maintain all electrical controls within hospital, and affiliates as required. Ability to read schematics and electrical drawings. Order material as needed to complete work. Perform any assigned PM duties and other responsibilities as required. Be proficient with the use of all tools, meters and other test equipment as required. Assist with the training of new employees. Qualify for on call, weekend and off shift relief work. Assist in keeping assigned areas clean and neat in appearance. Report promptly all defective equipment and abnormal conditions to supervisor.
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Unlimited Electrical Licenses preferred. Must be multi-talented with at least two year of specialized training as an Electrician. At least three additional years of experience in a hospital or industrial setting as a Controls Electrician. Be familiar with electrical, mechanical codes, installation methods, motors, and motor driven equipment and motor control wiring, boiler controls, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and laundry and food service equipment and troubleshooting. Have a very good knowledge of Energy Management Systems, and Electrical Controls. Ability to read and understand blue prints, schematics and other technical drawings as required to perform assigned duties. Have a valid NC Driver's License with no restrictions other than prescription eyeglasses or contacts. Must be capable of climbing of any ladder(s) or scaffolding necessary to perform assigned duties. Must be capable of recognizing wiring color codes. Basic PC skills using Windows based software.
