- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform periodic maintenance of electrical control systems for tube fillers, liquid fillers, suppository fillers, cartoners, labelers, serialization equipment, barcode and OCR/OCV verification systems, tanks, heat skids, CIP skids, pumps, mixers, etc.
- Ability to install, troubleshoot, program, and modify PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s, DC Drives, Servo Drives, etc. and to upgrade systems to provide increased flexibility and control, as needed.
- Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity and limit switches, PLC I/O modules and associated control wiring, etc.
- Ability to install, troubleshoot, and configure pressure, level and flow sensors, temperature controllers, Conductivity and pH transmitters, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Ability to understand and perform assigned equipment work orders.
- Ability to redline and modify drawings using Computer Aided Design software, as needed.
- Support and assist Technical Services and Metrology depts with equipment Installation/ Operation qualifications and calibrations, as needed.
- Ability to create equipment functional checks and work plan memos for assigned tasks pertaining to equipment Change Controls.
- Possess a thorough understanding of NEC code compliance and OSHA regulations, along with LO/TO, fall protection, hot work permit, and risk assessment analysis, etc.
- Responsible for identifying improvements related to the equipment and processes. When new equipment is purchased, additional support will be required to ensure it has the proper level of controls and functionality.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Maintain accurate records for all repairs.
- Provide light mechanical and electrical controls support to Facility Maintenance, Compounding, and Packaging, to support plant needs.
- Install and support Packaging and Compounding equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Minimum High School diploma and diploma or degree in related field is preferred.
- 5 years experience in related field.
- Strong electrical controls skills.
- General understanding of computer networking.
- Ability to correctly use and read a multimeter.
- Superior problem-solving skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems including process improvement skills.
- Ability to operate forklift and skyjack equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Possess good communication skills, including phone, two-way radio, computer equipment, etc.
- Strong problem solving and process improvement skills.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of PLCs, HMI’s, VFD,s, DC Drives, Servo Drives, etc. (AB, Siemens, Omron, Lenze, Mitsubishi, etc.).
- Required to wear proper GMP gowning and PPE prior to entering GMP areas.
- GMP gowning includes lab coat with sleeves worn at wrist level and all snaps connected, hairnet, beard cover (if applicable), procedure mask, and gloves, both are required when working over any open product or componentry.
- Safety Glasses must be worn while in GMP areas, Labs, and Maintenance shop.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Arc flash suit.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to adhere to all Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and machine guarding procedures.
