Description
As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for programming, setting up and overseeing the operations of CNC machines. A CNC Operator sets up and operates plywood-cutting machinery to cut flanges or any required parts of a reel. Their duties include studying schedules and cutting flanges and performing regular maintenance on their machinery.
DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
Essential:
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Carris Reels standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the plant.
- Follow safety rules, procedures, guidelines, and training given. Recognize and report hazards to designated individual(s). Actively participate in safety program. Practice safe work habits and report accidents/injuries immediately.
- Flexibility in job assignments and adaptability to changing business needs.
- Continually learn and apply new skills.
- Use vacuum lift and/or manually load CNC machines with plywood sheet stock. Unload, stack, and clean when the cycle is complete. Re-set for new cycle.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
- Interface with manufacturing personnel, across departments and shifts on material status and production assembly issues.
- Confer with shift supervisor to coordinate and organize materials.
- Communicate well and get along with team members, actively listen, ask questions to understand, provide encouragement.
- Collaboratively support a cooperative and positive team environment.
- Maintain excellent attendance, with overtime required as business needs dictate.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned and fill in at other areas, or buildings, as needed.
- Perform any other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting preferred.
- For safety reasons, you must be 18 years or older to be considered.
- 2 years' experience as CNC operator preferred.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to stand, bend, twist/squat, push, pull, reach during entire shift.
- Must be able to work in a hot/ cold warehouse environment.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving, stacking, and wrapping flanges. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud, and personal protective equipment is required (ear plugs, safety glasses, steel toe work shoes at minimum).
This position requires constant standing, walking, bending, and moving back and for in the production line. Must be able to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds, with reaching, pulling, pushing.

Base Rate: $16.85 $1 shift differential.
Schedule 10-hour shift Second Shift from 3:30 pm to 2: 00 am.
