Engineer Tech III - HVAC

SUMMARY:

The Engineer Tech III- HVAC/R Specialist is responsible for identifying, repairing, and replacing of worn,

non-working or damaged HVAC & Refrigeration equipment; installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading. HVAC and Refrigeration systems and equipment; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are maintained according to departmental standards. Assists other technicians as required.

·         Coordinates with assigned lead for the purpose of receiving and completing projects/work orders.

·         Inspects HVAC & Refrigeration systems and their components (e g. heating units, building exhaust
fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs, and recommending/conducting preventive maintenance.

·         Performs routine and preventive maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing
functioning of HVAC and Refrigeration systems

·         Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning & refrigeration systems for
the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.

·         Installs heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment to include upgrades.

·         Fabricates equipment parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and/or replacing
unavailable/outdated parts; Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or
complying with building and safety regulations.

·         Maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition.

·         Prepares written materials (e.g., repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting
activities and/or conveying critical/mechanical and/or purchasing information; assists in identifying

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Must have three years related experience in heating, air conditioning/refrigeration and electrical
repair-required

·         Successful completion or continuing education toward license/certification in HVAC/R trade required

·         Must have additional skilled craft knowledge to include but not limited to plumbing, electrical,
painting and general maintenance-required
• Able to work safely and in accordance with OSHA, EPA and Casino policies

·         Class II or Universal Refrigerant and recovery Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certificate -
preferred

EDUCATION:

·         High School Diploma or GED (required) OSHA, electrical and HVAC training (required)

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background investigation, and maintain a Pauma Gaming Commission License.

The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and occasionally exposed to extreme heat and cold weather.
