SUMMARY :

The Engineer Tech III- HVAC / R Specialist is responsible for identifying, repairing, and replacing of worn, non-working or damaged HVAC & Refrigeration equipment; installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading. HVAC and Refrigeration systems and equipment; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are maintained according to departmental standards. Assists other technicians as required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Coordinates with assigned lead for the purpose of receiving and completing projects / work orders.
Inspects HVAC & Refrigeration systems and their components (e g. heating units, building exhaust
fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs, and recommending / conducting preventive maintenance.
Performs routine and preventive maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC and Refrigeration systems
Diagnoses causes of problems and / or failures in heating / air conditioning & refrigeration systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and / or systems repair and / or replacement needs.
Installs heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment to include upgrades.
Fabricates equipment parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and / or replacing unavailable / outdated parts; Informs personnel regarding procedures and / or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and / or complying with building and safety regulations.
Maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and / or conveying critical / mechanical and / or purchasing information; assists in identifying

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Must have three years related experience in heating, air conditioning / refrigeration and electrical

repair-required

Successful completion or continuing education toward license / certification in HVAC / R trade required

Must have additional skilled craft knowledge to include but not limited to plumbing, electrical, painting and general maintenance-required

Able to work safely and in accordance with OSHA, EPA and Casino policies

Class II or Universal Refrigerant and recovery Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certificate - preferred

EDUCATION :

High School Diploma or GED (required) OSHA, electrical and HVAC training (required)

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS :

Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background investigation, and maintain a Pauma Gaming Commission License.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS :

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those as employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and occasionally exposed to extreme heat and cold weather.

Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
