SUMMARY:
The Engineer Tech III- HVAC/R Specialist is responsible for identifying, repairing, and replacing of worn, non-working or damaged HVAC & Refrigeration equipment; installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading. HVAC and Refrigeration systems and equipment; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are maintained according to departmental standards. Assists other technicians as required.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates with assigned lead for the purpose of receiving and completing projects/work orders.
- Inspects HVAC & Refrigeration systems and their components (e g. heating units, building exhaust
fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs, and recommending/conducting preventive maintenance. - Performs routine and preventive maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC and Refrigeration systems
- Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning & refrigeration systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
- Installs heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment to include upgrades.
- Fabricates equipment parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable/outdated parts; Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or
complying with building and safety regulations. - Maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
- Prepares written materials (e.g., repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying critical/mechanical and/or purchasing information; assist in identifying parts and other services outside of their scope of responsibility.
- Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have three years related experience in heating, air conditioning/refrigeration and electrical
repair-required - successful completion or continuing education toward license/certification in HVAC/R trade required.
- Must have additional skilled craft knowledge to include but not limited to plumbing, electrical,
painting and general maintenance-required. - Able to work safely and in accordance with OSHA, EPA and Casino policies.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED (required) OSHA, electrical and HVAC training (required)
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background investigation, and maintain a Pauma Gaming Commission License.
