The Role:
The Campground Supervisor is able to perform a variety of routine maintenance for the campground(s)ensuring that the facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition. This role is able to perform light carpentry and plumbing tasks using the appropriate tools. The Campground Supervisor excels in practicing excellent customer, ensuring guests have a safe and enjoyable experience. They are well versed and able to operate the campground reservation and POS software and can appropriately prioritize daily task and projects, and delegate duties to employees in a clear and understandable manner. They are able to provide employees with training, constructive feedback, and additional support as needed. They offer coaching when performance shows areas of concern and consistently maintains a positive attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively and efficiently utilize the POS system in place for camping reservations
- Utilize Paycom & On-Track to schedule team members as well as time-sheets for rangers located in Little Harbor Campground
- Approve/deny missed punches as needed
- In partnership with the Director of Operations and counterparts, interview prospective candidates
- Coach, and mentor rangers to maximize customer service and productivity.
- Effectively deescalate negative interactions between campers and/or guests
- Maintain and ensure proper communication between the rangers and visitor services department is clear and concise
- Utilize Paycom to monitor and document performance of rangers as needed and as directed by the Director of Operations
- Respond in a timely manner to emails and requests from the Director of Operations and/or V.P. of Two Harbors
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships.
- Independently organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments.
- Safely and effectively use, operate, and maintain equipment and tools.
- Enter maintenance tickets as needed to ensure the campground facilities are up to par
- Provide direction to Rangers in order to meet daily deadlines and complete daily/weekly/monthly tasks and/or goals.
- Order supplies as needed to ensure the campground and team members are properly equipped
- Motivate team members to contribute to the team and overall goals of the department.
- Delegate duties to staff and supervise daily operations to ensure tent sites, tent cabins, porta-potties, showers and general campground facilities are maintained
- Communicate operational issues and needs to the Director of Operations and/or Vice President of Operations
- Ensure guests’ needs and requirements are exceeded to ensure guests’ have a positive memorable experience
- Haul gear, provide amenities and organize and receive deliveries for the campground sites
- Answer questions from the public in a professional and positive manner
- Assist with lost and found items/procedures
- Perform quality assurance checks on vehicles and campgrounds as required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Oversee employees in order to meet the needs of daily operations
- Address and correct issues pertaining to facilities, staff and customers. Relay concerns and needs to management as appropriate
- Handle all aspects of providing an outstanding camper experience
- Ability to safely drive a vehicle (possess a valid CA Driver’s License, with clean driving record)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask and demonstrate follow-through in a timely manner
- Excellent organizations with attention to details
- Ability to use sound judgment and decision-making skills
- Computer savvy with experience in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent, such as GED
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Principles and practices for providing a high level of customer service.
- Well versed in occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
- Understand and apply principles and best practices for record keeping
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to professionally and effectively respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Perform heavy manual labor.
- Must be able to stand, walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, push and pull on a regular basis.
- Must have full range of overhead motions and full hand dexterity.
- Requires visual acuity and the ability to hear clearly to communicate with managers, coworkers and guests
Job Expectations regarding Scheduling:
- This position requires a flexible schedule with shifts that consists of a rotating schedule of weekday and weekend shifts, including day, night, and holiday work hours.
