This opportunity is for a leadership role at Caterpillar, with Product Manager responsibilities for a digital application known as the Value Selling Tool (VST). This particular application is used by Caterpillar sales and marketing professionals and Caterpillar dealer sales professionals when working with end customers to 1) make a machine selection recommendation and 2) quantify the value of the product or services solution compared to alternatives. This role is responsible for developing and owning the vision for the product capabilities, enhancements and performance; engaging with senior leaders promote adoption of the application; leading the development of the roadmap for enhancements/improvements; and providing leadership to a team of experienced professionals that execute the underlying business processes, technical development, and training. The primary location for this role is Peoria, Illinois, but we are willing to consider candidates located at other US facilities. The Value Selling Tool (VST) Product Manager sets the vision and strategy for the application and provides direct leadership to four key roles: Product Owner – leads a team of value consultants and subject matter experts to execute the global training plan; own the development and prioritization of the enhancement backlog and work items; and provide end user testing, adoption, and feedback Program Manager – leads the technical development delivery team (internal Caterpillar and third party resources) and owns software quality, velocity and cost (QVC) Data Scientist – develops robust analytics for Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and execution of the integration of the VST data into the broader pricing tools and processes (e.g., data lake) Marketing Consultant – Develops and update promotional content and support materials, support the app and the team by managing content repositories, and develop training and user acceptance support The VST Product Manager also has primary responsibility to engage with senior leaders within Caterpillar’s Product and Industry Groups to drive strategic alignment with action plans for profitable growth, ensure the digitized data inputs are accurate and up to date, and deliver the the requirements of the product and sales/marketing teams and dealers.
