The Senior Vice President, Programs is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic planning, development, and execution of assigned programs at Catholic Charities. In collaboration with the senior leadership team, the Senior Vice President is responsible for establishing a strategic vision and guiding philosophy that will inform short and long-term goals of programs, drive new programs, and carefully monitor the progress towards those efforts.

What you Deliver
Leadership
- Promote and participate in fostering open-mindedness and a culture of learning – including learning and evaluation activities to guide the evolution of programmatic work – seeking to continually ask hard questions, gather independent and rigorous data and evidence about the effectiveness of the strategies and programming, and help adapt practice as needed.

- Strengthen and maintain the management and governance culture and practices of the organization.
- Promote clear communication and collaboration between all programs throughout the organization to ensure succinct progress toward current goals.
Programs and Outcomes
- Make sound and timely business decisions, drive a culture of accountability, and motivate performance per clearly defined expectations.
- Explore opportunities to improve all areas of programs and define key performance indicators (KPIs) to track success/areas for improvement, anticipate and find solutions to organizational challenges.
- Ensure there are appropriate protocols, systems processes, and structures in place to guide day-to-day operations in the coordinated delivery of service to clients.
- Ensure open and consistent communication, effectively manage risks, control costs and provide resources and support to all programs; maintain official records and ensure compliance with funding sources, federal, state and local regulations.
- Participate in the budget development process and maintain a high level of fiscal responsibility by working closely with the Accounting Department to budget and monitor programmatic operations to ensure sound fiscal and system management.
External Relationships
- Build external relationships, collaborations, and partnerships with other organizations to broaden services. Manage and prioritize relationships with key partner organizations.
- Support fundraising efforts through relationship building, site visits, program presentations, events, and grant writing participation.
- Promote program wins and client success stories throughout the organization including staff, funders, private donors, and partners to keep individuals motivated and informed about Catholic Charities’ work.
Qualifications
The Expertise We're Looking For

Master’s degree in social services, public administration, or related field

Ten (10) years of experience in a social and human services organization

Five (5) years of experience in a senior management role over multiple programs

Valid Texas Driver’s License

- Experience building partnerships with state and federal agencies and managing funded contracts.
- Experience developing and managing budgets of $1 million or higher.
- Strategic thinking and demonstrated success in program innovation. Track record developing new programs and taking existing programs to higher levels.
- Experience hiring and retaining program staff and leading through transitions and growth.
- Exceptional managerial experience, with an inclusive leadership style, skills in group process and talent for working with diverse staff using a strengths-based approach.
- Highly developed skills in coaching management staff to manage and develop high-performance teams and develop and implement program strategies.
- Proven track record managing within a results-based framework, delivering high quality programs, and leveraging data to drive continuous learning and program improvement.
- Skills in program planning, project management, reporting and measurement.
- Experience using data to inform program evaluation.
- Experience implementing quality systems.
- Is mission-driven, self-directed, and can function well in a complex and evolving organizational environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
