Job Summary:
The Float Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals for Senior Dining/Meals on Wheels, filling in while other cooks are on vacation or leave, and preparing the food for the site as well as the satellite site(s) and other contracted programs. The Float Cook will be required to travel to the different Senior Dining kitchen locations as needed.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and direct preparation and service of meals.
- Follow MN Department of Health requirements for Certified Food Managers and OSHA requirements for workplace safety.
- Prepare wholesome food for meals according to program guidelines.
- Order, store, and record food purchases; maintain equipment and inventories.
- Maintain regular contact with Program Manager and Senior Dining office.
- Implement agency policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
Education/Training: High school diploma. Current State of Minnesota Certified Food Manager.
Job Related Experience: Two (2) years of quantity cooking. Knowledge of food service equipment operation is helpful.
Additional Requirement: A current driver’s license is required.
