Direct Care Professional/Companion at Behavior Focused Group Home

Celebration Group Homes Inc. in Tallahassee, FL is looking for a direct care professional to join our strong team. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and hard-working.

This position is at one of our adult male behavior focused group homes. This home has adults with significant behaviors including elopement, verbal aggression, physical aggression and property destruction. These positions require able bodied individuals who are able to react appropriately when the individuals in the home are eloping or showing physical aggression, this will include being able to do approved restraints. The applicant must also have the heart to work with individuals with these types of behaviors.

We have a part time position available:

• Part Time Companion position: Team member will work Monday through Friday being a companion for residents in our group home. As the companion, you would be responsible for helping to plan the outings, take the residents on the outings and write companion logs for the outings that were taken. You will have other team members and management to help on your outings as well. Your schedule will be Monday through Friday. You will work 25-30 hours per week. This position pays $15/hour. If you are scheduled for a Saturday or Sunday, you will make $1.00 over your regular pay rate for those days.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to patients in day to day activities
• Communicate with management about patients health or issues that may arise
• Prepare and administer meals in accordance with dietary needs

Qualifications

• At least one year of verifiable experience working with people with developmental disabilities, children or the elderly.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain empathetic to patient needs
• High attention to detail
• High School Diploma or equivalent
